Choose a condition to see how it changes the lungs, the airflow and the numbers a lung function test measures.
Air flows freely in through the airways to hundreds of millions of tiny air sacs, where oxygen passes into the blood. At rest, most adults take around 12 to 20 breaths a minute.
A simplified illustration of how these conditions affect breathing. It is not a diagnosis, and the numbers are typical examples rather than patient results.

A detailed picture of the lungs that shows the size and position of any abnormality, and where a sample could be taken from.
A small tissue sample, often taken by bronchoscopy at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital, confirms whether it is cancer and what type.
